New Year's Eve Nail Polish 2014

Hey guys!

I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas! (If you celebrate)

Today's Blog is going to be my choices for New Year's Eve nail polish. These are in no way the only option or colors you can use. These are the colors I tend to use more and think look nice together. These are just a few of my ideas. Hope you enjoy!

The base color I always use is black but you could use any color you prefer. A deep red or green would be good. Maybe a solid silver or gold. I just prefer black personally.

NYC ~ Black Lace Crème. It is by far my favorite black polish that I own. The formula is great and it usually doesn't chip as quickly as others that I have used. The best part is that it only costs .99 at my local Rite Aid but I got this for .79. Such a good deal!

I like to wear gold glitter polishes over the black. I have quite a few so I just picked out my top three favorites. I am listing them from left to right.

Butter London ~ West End Wonderland.
Nicole by O.P.I ~ Carried Away.
E.L.F. ~ Gold Star.

I love the look of gold glitter over black for New Year's. It looks like a celebration is happening on my nails. HAHA!

I also like to put silver glitter polish on over black. I like to use just solid silver glitter or silver with specks of color glitter mixed in. I think it makes the nails look shiny and they kind of remind me of a disco ball which I think is perfect for the holiday. I am again listing the polishes from left to right.

Deborah Lippmann ~ Happy Birthday.
Urban Outfitters ~ Champagne Toast.
E.L.F. ~ Dream Maker.

This year I am using the black as a base coat and the UO Champagne Toast glitter polish over the top. I think the white and gold glitter will look so nice over the black polish.

I hope these ideas help you polish your nails for The New Year holiday! As always feel free to leave comments and ideas. If you have special polishes that you use for New Year's Eve, let me know in the comments as well.

My Ulta Blog Haul will be making an appearance in the next few days so stay tuned for that.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

Thanks for reading :)

Walmart Beauty Box Winter 2014

Hey Guys!

Today's Blog is sort of like an unboxing video that someone would do on youtube. I got the Walmart Beauty Box in the mail a couple days ago and wanted to share with you the products that they sent me.

This is the Winter 2014 box. I believe this is a newer subscription type box. I got the Fall 2014 box and that was the first one that I had heard of them doing, If I am wrong let me know in the comments. Let's get into the products...

Olay Fresh Effects ~  Make up removal wipes. Essence of Honeysuckle & White Tea. 7 count.
I am always looking to try new make up removal wipes. I have very sensitive skin so I can't use all kinds of products on my face. I really enjoy the simple wipes but would also like to find another one that I could use as a substitute because my local drugstore and Walmart don't always carry simple products. I am looking forward to trying these out and see how they work with my skin.

L'OREAL Paris ~ OleoTherapy Hair Expertise Sulfate Free System. Oil infused Shampoo & Conditioner. For dull, dry, or damaged hair. 2 fl. oz.
These are pretty big size bottles for samples. I could definitely get probably a weeks use out of them if I wash my hair every day. They smell really nice and i'm looking forward to using these as well.

Jergens ~ BB Body perfecting skin cream. Hydrates, illuminates, evens, firms & corrects. All light skin tones. 1 fl. oz.
Again this is a good size sample. I can get many uses out of it. I have never used any kind of BB cream for my face or body but I will definitely give this a try and see how it works.

Nivea ~ Cocoa Butter body lotion. Cocoa butter & Vitamin E. Intensively hydrates skin. For dry to very dry skin.
This is oil one of those single use samples. Not my favorite because of the size. You can't really get a feel of how these things work if you can only use it once so you are left with the choice to either buy the product and hope that it works well with you or go without the product. You could always give it away if it doesn't work for you I suppose but it would be nice to know before going out and spending money on it.

Maybelline New York ~Wonder Powder.
This is another small sample. I believe you can get a few uses out of this possibly but I am not positive. I don't use foundation because I always seem to break out when I do so this will be put up and I will give it away in a future giveaway :)

Saving my favorite & best for last...
Maybelline New York ~ ColorSensational Lipstick. 925 Maple Kiss.

This lipstick is a pinky brownish nude shade. It glides on so smooth and creamy. There is no funny smell and I think it would look good on any skin tone. I love that they included another full size lip product in the Winter box. I will definitely be using this a lot.

A swatch on my hand of the lipstick. Pretty true to color. Very pigmented.

The Walmart Beauty Box is FREE. All you have to do is pay $5 for shipping which is not bad at all especially for all of the products that you receive and for the sizes of those products.
As I mentioned before, I also received the Fall box and there were multiple use samples full size samples along with some other single use samples and a fragrance. This box is so worth your money so if you are not yet receiving it, definitely sign up at walmart.com/beauty.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading :) Leave comments & suggestions for future Blog posts.

Best Fall/Winter Nail Polishes 2014

Hey Guys!

In honor of the first day of winter, today's Blog is going to be my choices for the best fall/winter nail polish colors. These are my personal choices. The colors that I like to wear during the fall and winter months. They are not the only colors that I have but they are the ones that I tend to lean towards the most during those months.

Just a warning, the colors in the pictures are not true to life. I am in the process of getting some nail polish wheels in hopes that the swatches come out better on camera. But for now these are my picks. Enjoy!

All colors are listed left to right.

The Reds...

Revlon ~ Raven Red
Butter London ~ Pillar Box Red
NYC ~ Big Apple Red Creme

The Revlon polish is a deep red when it's on the nails. The Butter London and NYC are medium reds. All three polishes have good wear and the formula is nice as well, very creamy and not watery at all.

The Greens...

Nicole by O.P.I ~ Khloe Had A Little Lam Lam
Sephora ~ Be A Millionaire

Both of these greens are deep green. They look very similar to each other when on the nails but the Sephora green is a little bit darker than the O.P.I one in my opinion. Both polishes are nice colors, especially for Christmas time and the formula like the previous polishes is just right.

The Blues...

Wet N Wild ~ Saved By The Blue
Maybelline Color Show ~ Midnight Blue
Ulta ~ Blue Streak

The Maybelline polish is a deep blue, almost black. It's the perfect blue for fall and winter. The Wet N Wild polish is a dark blue but not deep like the Maybelline polish. The Ulta color is a medium blue, although it's coming off light in the photo. The ulta polish is not as long lasting as the others but still, they are all good quality polishes.

The Purples...

NYC ~ Purple Pizzazz Frost
Milani ~ Rapid Orchid

The Milani polish is a deep purple almost black color and perfect for those dark days during fall and winter. The NYC is a nice medium/darl purple.

The Pinks...

Revlon ~ Cherries In The Snow
Revlon ~ Plum Seduction

Cherries in the snow is a medium pink and plum seduction is a darker pink. Cherries in the snow looks red in the bottle but once it's on your nails it's more pink. Both are nice colors for fall and winter.

The Browns...

NYC ~ Park Ave
Ulta ~ Fine Pruned

Park ave is a lighter brown while fine pruned is a little bit darker. There is not much of a difference between the two but if both are on your nails at the same time, you can definitely tell the difference between these two browns.

The Black...

NYC ~ Black Lace Creme

I only included one black because obviously black is black. There are black polishes that have more of a shine than others and there are also black polishes that have a bit of shimmer or glitter added but for fall and winter I like just a plain true black.

The Glitter...

Revlon ~ Graffiti
Milani ~ Hot Pink
Essie ~ Jazzy Jubilant
Revlon ~ Radiant

Glitter polishes I like best over a solid color. Graffiti is a nice red and white combination that I think is great for christmas time. I like to wear this one over a black polish. Radiant is another christmas time glitter that I love because it reminds me of christmas tree ornaments. I like it best over a white polish but it also looks good over a little bit lighter blue. The Milani and Essie polishes look good over black or white. The Milani polish I also like over silver or gold. The Essie polish is nice over any dark color. I like to wear the Essie over black or a dark red the best.

That's all for my best fall/winter nail polish colors. Leave comments telling me what your favorite polishes are to wear during the fall and winter months. As always also leave ideas for future Blog posts that you would like to see.

Thanks for reading :)

Holiday 2014 Fragrances

Hey Guys!

I wasn't going to do a Blog today because I said in my precious one that my next Blog was going to probably be an Ulta Blog Haul but I have some Holiday scents, mostly from Bath & Body works that I wanted to share with you guys since it is obviously still holiday time and you can still go out and get these scents from probably any place that sells candles, body sprays, hand sanitizer, etc. I'm sure that Yankee Candle, Walmart, Target, even your local Dollar Tree or 99 cent store would have most of them. As always I'm going to post pictures of the products that I have and I will give a description as well as my thoughts. Enjoy!

The first two scents are what I consider the holiday season go to scents. They are both from Bath & Body Works.

This one is Fresh Balsam. The key notes are balsam & fir trees & fresh eucalyptus. The 3 wick candle is $20 and the mini candle is $4.50. The Evergreen candle is also a good substitute for the fresh balsam candle. This is one of my favorite scents. It smells exactly as it sounds, just like a christmas tree. If you can't have a real tree for one reason or another this is the scent for you. I bought this candle last year and the scent is still strong this year. Everytime I burn it, the room smells like a christmas tree lot and I cannot get enough of it. I am definitely going to keep repurchasing this product year after year.

This is the Holiday scented candle also from Bath & Body works. This 3 wick candle was $20. The candle Tis The Season is also a good candle to pick up if you can't find this one. The key notes are cinnamon, clove & fresh bergamot. This candle when burning makes any room smell like cinnamon. I recommend this to anyone who loves a spicy fragrance and this is also another product that I will be repurchasing.

The next few products are some of the most popular holiday scents from Bath & Body Works.

The first one is Twisted Peppermint. The key notes are peppermint, vanilla & sugary musk. The 3 wick candle is $20, the body mist is $12.50, The hand sanitizer is $1.50. This has been a favorite scent of mine for the past few years. It does have a very strong peppermint scent so if that is something that you don't like then this fragrance is not for you. I personally enjoyed it in the past. With that being said, I have been using it for so many years that the scent is getting old to me and although I am going to finish up each of the products, I probably won't be repurchasing any twisted peppermint products for a while so I can try out some of the newer scents that they have been coming out with. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys the smell of peppermint.

This next scent is Vanilla Bean Noel. The key notes are vanila bean, rich cocoa, sweet cream, caramel & brown sugar. The Travel body mist is $6.00, the mini candle is $4.50 & the hand sanitizers are $1.50 each. I also bought this scent last year I think for the first time, or it could have been the year before, anyway...I never really paid much attention to this scent but this year I have been using it alot more. I was really missing out on this amazing scent. It has such a sweet fragrance to it and you can really smell the vanilla bean. I actually think you could probably get away with using it year round. I mean except for the Noel part, It's just a sweet vanilla smell which I personally love the smell of vanilla so it works for me although I have so many other body mists and things to use I will probably pack away what I don't use this year and use it again next year. This is another product that I would recommend not only for the holiday but if it works for you, all year round.

The third scent is Winter Candy Apple. The key notes are candied apples, spiced orange zest & Winter Musk. The travel body mist is $6.00 & the hand sanitizer is $1.50. I can really smell the apples in it and it does have a musky scent to it. Although I do like it, this isn't my favorite scents for the holidays probably because I've had it for the past 2 or 3 years and it's just such an old scent that it's lost a little of it's appeal to me. This is an oldie but a goodie that I definitely think you should give a try if you haven't already and if you have and you enjoy it, go ahead and buy it again!!!

I should also mention that all of the products that I have mentioned so far I have bought in previous years so although I am putting the prices in this Blog, they may have changed a little since then. I am noticing that some of the newer products that I am about to mention, although the same size are different prices and I have not checked to see if they are the same this year.

This first new scent is Sugar Plum Dream. The key notes are orange, lemon, lime, apple, pomegranate, black cherry, snowdrop flower, vanilla orchid, winter iris, jasmine petals, warm amber, sugared musk & creamy sandalwood. This hand sanitizer is $1.75. I'm not sure if this is a new scent this year or if it's just new to me. I really enjoy it. The hand sanitizer was the only thing that I could find at the time that I went to Bath & Body Works except for the body cream but I dont really care for the body creams. I am hoping that I will be able to get the body mist before they stop selling it. I wish they had travel sizes but I dont see them online so I assume they don't exist. If anyone knows if this is correct let me know.

I believe this next product is new this year because I don't remember seeing it before but I could be wrong. This is Fresh Sparkling Snow. The key notes are sparkling sugarberries, holiday pear & icy melon. The 3 wick candle is $22.50 & the hand sanitizer is $1.75. This is my FAVORITE scent right now. I cannot tell you how amazing this smells. I am so disappointed because it seems that they have only made the candle, hand sanitizer and soap. I would love to have the body mist and lotion. Maybe even the shower gel. I haven't seen them and they are also not on the website. I really hope this is a scent that comes back next year and that they grow the line. I seriously cannot get enough of this scent. When I burn it, the room smells so amazing. Go in and smell the candle. That's all you have to do and I promise, you will buy it. The way the candle smells in the jar is exactly what it smells like when it is burning. It is the most delicious fruity smell. The berries and melon definitely come out. I would recommend this product first before any of the other scents I have talked about in this Blog.

These are just a couple of other holiday candles that I have worth mentioning. They both came from my local dollar tree. If you haven't guessed, the green one is pine scented and the brown one is pumpkin. In all honesty the pine doesn't really have that much of a christmas tree scent and the pumpkin candle when it burns it's just a candle. The pumpkin spice doesn't really come out at all. In a small room or a bathroom, the scents may come out a little more but if you can't sit there and smell them, then there is really no point. These are not products that I would repurchase myself but some of you guys may enjoy them. I can only speak for myself so feel free to go out and try them for yourself and let me know how you like them.

I would like to mention that Cranberry & Gingerbread are also some good holiday scents. You could find them pretty much anywhere these types of porducts are sold. I prefer Bath & Body Works or Yankee Candles over all the other ones. It's my personal opinion that although they can be pricey if not on sale, they have the better fragrances and the scents definitely come out more than the generic brands. I'm also going to include a list of a few other holiday scents from Bath & Body Works that I do not own but that I would either buy myself or that I think would make good gifts for other people that might enjoy the scents more than me.

I hope you enjoyed this Blog and that it helps you in your holiday scents shopping!!! If you have any of these products leave comments telling me how you like them or if you have another scent that you like and think I should try leave that in a comment as well. As always feel free to leave ideas for future Blog posts.

Thank You for reading :)
