How To Remove Glitter Nail Polish

Hey Guys!

I always found it hard to remove glitter nail polish from my nails. Over the years I have tried many different techniques and recently I came across one on YouTube that I never thought to try. It worked so well for me so I thought I would share it on the off chance that other people were slow to the party like I am!

Materials Needed:

Cotton Rounds/Balls
Pure Acetone
Tape

1. Take a cotton ball or a cotton round folded to fit your nail.

2. Cover the cotton ball or round with pure acetone and place it on your nail.

3. Use the tape to tape the cotton round to your nail. I recommend taping around your finger until the tape almost touches, that way it won't fall off and it won't stick to the other side of the tape.

4. Do that for one hand and wait a couple minutes.

5. Remove the tape and wipe the nail with the cotton round. The polish should slide right off.

6. Repeat the process with the other hand.

Note: I found it easier to do one hand at a time but if you would like to do them both at the same time that is fine as well.

Nail Essentials

These are my nail essentials for when I paint my nails.

 

 

1. Nail Polish. I included a couple in the photo. Butter London Trout Pout and Revlon Scented Wintermint.

 

2. Top Coat. I like the Essie Matte About You.

 

3. Base Coat. I like the ORLY Bonder.

 

4. Nail Treatment. I have been using the Nutra Nail Strengthener.

 

5. Nail Polish Remover. I am currently using the Non-Acetone remover for Equate that I got at Walmart.

 

6. Cuticle Oil. I love the Enreign one. I got it at my local Dollar Tree and it smells so good.

 

7. Nail File. It is better to use a file when nails chip or break than to bite or pull them off.

 

8. Nail Clippers. I also use these for my toe nails and for hang nails and such.

 

9. Cotton Rounds. Essential for removing nail polish!

Hair Essentials

These are the products that I like to use on my hair...

 

 

1. Leave In Conditioner. This is an Olive Oil One.

 

2. Hair Ties. I use a headband when I wash my face and use face masks. I like to put my hair up in an elastic sometimes either to get it out of the way or to stay cool but I do not wear them all the time. I go for the clips instead.

 

3. Shampoo. Right now I am using Tea Tree Shampoo. It smells so good.

 

4. Conditioner. I use conditioner when I wash my hair because it is easier to brush when it's wet. I am using an Herbal Essence color treated conditioner right now.

 

5. Comb. I use this for obvious reasons! :)

Top 10 Must Have Products

These are my top 10 must have products...

 

 

1. Nail Polish. I feel naked if my nails aren't painted. I usually paint them once a week. I included the three colors that I have been obsessed with for a while now. China Glaze Too Yacht Too Handle, Essie e-nuf is e-nuf and Revlon Scented African Tea Rose.

 

2. Lotion. I use lotion on a daily basis but what I uses depends on my mood that day and how my skin is feeling. I either use a dry skin lotion like my Jergens Shea Butter or if my skin isn't having a bad day I will use one of my Bath And Body Works scented lotions like Velvet Sugar.

 

3. Leave-In Conditioner. I use this daily after my hair towel dries. It makes my hair shiny and it doesn't feel oily or heavy which is a plus. It also smells so good. I've been using the Olive Oil Leave in that I got at the salon when I got my hair cut a couple months ago.

 

4. Moisturizer. I use this every morning and every night. My all time favorite moisturizer is the Simple Rich Replenishing Moisturizer.

 

5. Body Spray/Perfume. This again depends on my mood for that day. If I am in an adult mood I will wear perfume. My favorite of the moment is Taylor by Taylor Swift. If I want more of a sweet or teenager smell, as my mom calls it, I will wear a Bath And Body Works Body Spray. My all time favorite scent is Paris Amore.

 

6. Face Mask. I try to do a face mask once a week. If I have had a long hard week I usually do it once on the weekend and once on a week day. I really like the Mud Mask from Queen Helene. I got it at Ulta for about $5.

 

7. Lip Gloss/Chap Stick. I am not a big lip stick junkie but I do love lip gloss and chap stick. I included the three that I use the most. I love NYX, Nivea and Baby Lips products. I also tend to reach for the NYX Butter Glosses when I want a little color and shine but I don't feel like wearing lip stick. This one is Strawberry Parfait. I love the Pink Punch Baby Lips and the Nivea is A Kiss Of Cherry.

 

8. Mascara. I cannot leave my house without mascara on. My favorite mascara is Maybelline Great Lash.

 

9. Brow Gel. I also never leave the house without brow gel. It keeps my brows in place and it's not sticky or greasy looking like some I have tried. This is the Essence brow Gel. I got it at Ulta for $4.

 

10. Comb. I comb my hair daily, which I think most people do. I carry one in my purse as well so that I can always brush my hair when I need to. I especially like to have a comb with me when its really windy or hot because I can also brush out tangles and wind blown hair and If I go swimming I can brush my hair out when its wet as well.

Shower Routine

This is my shower routine and like my makeup routine this also changes every once in a while...

 

1. Shampoo. Right now I am trying out Tea Tree Shampoo.

2. Conditioner. I am using the Color Me Happy conditioner for color treated hair.

3. Body Wash. I love this coconut scented body wash from Herbal Essences.

4. Face Wash. I'm using this Simple Foaming Cleanser after using FAB Face Cleaner and my cleaning system.

5. Cleanser. Right now I am trying out the First Aid Beauty Face Cleaner with my cleaning system.

6. Cleansing System. I use my Olay VA-VA-VIVID every day. I love it and I'm looking into getting a cleaning system that is a little more expensive.

I know that I am using two cleansers but I am trying one out that I haven't used before and I like using the foaming cleanser last because it takes off any remaining makeup and just makes my face feel cleaner.

Makeup Routine

Here is my makeup routine. I change it up every once in a while depending on what I do and how much time I have. It also depends on how much makeup I feel like wearing on a daily basis. I do this after cleansing and moisturizing my face.

 

1. Mascara I use on a daily basis no matter what unless I am sick. Right now I am using Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara.

2. e.l.f. Makeup remover pen to correct any mascara mistakes I might make.

3. Essence Brow Gel. I need to tame my brows and this is the best brand I have found so far.

4. Eyelid Primer. I use this if I am using eyeshadow.

5. Lip Stick. I don't always wear a lip color but I wore NYX Butter Gloss in Sugar Cookie today.

5. Lip Gloss. I have been loving Ulta Butter Balm in Belle lately. I love it and it's great for when I just want a clear gloss.

6. Urban Decay All Night Setting Spray to set my makeup of I wear any.

7. Eye Shadow. I really like the baked eye shadow from e.l.f. This one is in Toasted.

8. e.l.f. Contour Brush. This is what I use to apply my shadow and I love it.

9. Eyeliner. If I wear any which isn't very often it's always in black.

April Favorites!

It's time for another favorites Blog! These are the products that I loved in the month of April...

 

MAKEUP:

 

 

I have been loving the Rimmel London Lash Accelerator mascara that I got in the Walmart Spring Beauty Box. It makes my lashes long and dark and it doesn't clump.

I have also been loving clear lip gloss lately and my favorite at the moment is the Ulta Butter Balm. This one is in Belle and it's a clear gloss that just gives my lips a shine when I don't feel like wearing anything else.

 

HAIR/FACE:

 

 

I have been loving the Olive Oil Leave In Conditioner. My hair dresser recommended this to me when I went and got my hair cut in March. It's suppose to make my hair healthier and it smells so good.

Another hair product that I have been loving is the Australian Teatree Shampoo. I have been trying this as an alternative to Head & Shoulders. It smells better and it seems to be working just as well on my dry scalp.

I have been using the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser since I finished up my Simple Foaming Cleanser and I am in love with it. It's so gentle on my skin and even works great with my Olay VA-VA-VIVID Face Cleansing System.

I have also been loving this comb. It's just a plain purple with silver tips and a little handle. I have noticed that I have a lot less hair fallout since I have been using a comb instead of a hair brush. This one is from the brand Evolve and I got it at Walmart for about $3.

 

NAILS:

 

 

As always I can't do a favorites Blog without nail polish. The month of April I was really loving the Revlon scented nail polish in African Tea Rose. It's just a pretty bright pink color and perfect for Spring and Summer. I wore this color for most of April. When I wasn't wearing that I was wearing the Revlon scented nail polish in Wintermint. This is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream. I wrote a whole Blog on that so be sure to check it out if you want to!

 

 

 

 

This also goes along with nail polish. It is my new nail polish storage. I needed a way to store a lot of nail polish and tools in one place that didn't take up too much room. I got this little snap and lock storage bin from Amazon for about $15. It holds all of my nearly 100 bottles of polish with plenty of room to ass to my collection as well as my nail treatments and nail color wheels. I have been loving my new nail polish storage so far!!!

 

T.V. SHOWS:

 

I finally watched American Horror Story Freak Show. I absolutely loved it. I love that the show basically reinvents itself every season. You're never watching the same story twice which is what happens on a lot of T.V. shows and they just end up getting repetitive and boring.

I also finally caught up on the last two seasons of True Blood. I love how they ended that show and gave you absolute closure. So definitely check these shows out if they are something that interests you because they are both amazing.

 

MOVIES:

 

The month of April I didn't watch many new movies because I was watching two seasons of True Blood and also watched the fourth season of American Horror Story as well as going to work but I was able to watch Fifty Shades Of Grey online. First of all, I am definitely old enough to watch the movie! The main reason I watched it was because of all the horrible feedback it got. I find that the more bad reviews it has the better I like the movie for some reason. I thought it was a really good movie. I understand the arguments about violence but I also understand that they are both consenting adults and I mean it's a movie. I really enjoyed the love story that it told and the two main characters had really good chemistry in my opinion. Let's not forget to mention the fact that Jamie Dornan is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

 

BOOKS:

 

After I watched the movie I went ahead and bought the books for my Kindle. I've always found that the books are always better than the movies. I also like to watch the movies first in most cases because if I like the movie than I know I am going to love the book. That was the case with Fifty Shades Of Grey. I also read Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed and I have to admit I am in a hurry for the next movies. So if you are old enough, I recommend the books and the movie for anyone who is interested.

 

MUSIC:

 

For music I have been really liking the Fifty Shades Of Grey Soundtrack especially the song Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding. I love her in general and this is by far my favorite song from her. I also think it was perfect for the movie.

I have also been loving Pink this month. I recently downloaded her Truth About Love album, so late by the way! I love her songs Just Give Me A Reason and True Love. Definitely check this album out.

Also Kelly Clarkson's new album Piece By Piece is by far her BEST album so far. I love the songs Heartbreak Song, Someone and Piece By Piece.

 

OTHER:

 

The last couple of favorites for April are kind of random ones that I'm just throwing out there. The first is the Samsung Galaxy S5. I really needed a new phone and I love the Galaxy phones. I upgraded from the 3 and I am obsessed. The camera is so much better on the 5 than the 3 and it's just all together an amazing phone.

The last thing that I have been loving is The Sims Freeplay. I love this game and have been playing it since it was released. A new update was just released so I have been really enjoying that.

Top T.V. Shows (Not Airing New Episodes)

Todays Blog is a continuation of my previous Blog. The previous being my top shows that are currently on T.V. and this one being my top shows that are no longer airing new episodes. Some of these shows have reruns airing on T.V. as well as on Netflix either streaming or DVDs by mail. The list is in no particular order and like my previous Blog I will give a very brief description. I will also include how many seasons there were of each and whether or not they are currently airing reruns and if they are on Netflix.

One Tree Hill ~ 9 Seasons (2003-2012) Follows two rival half brothers who compete for spots on the  same high school basketball team.

Dawson's Creek ~ 6 Seasons (1998-2003) Story of a close-knit group of friends from high school to college and the various romances, tragedies and heartbreaks that they survive throughout the years.

Beverly Hills, 90210 ~ 10 Seasons (1990-2000) Follows a group of teenagers in Beverly Hills, California as they navigate high school, college and adulthood.

Gilmore Girls ~ 7 Seasons (2000-2007) Follows a single mother and her teenage daughter as they live in the small, fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut.

7th Heaven ~ 11 Seasons (1996-2007) A long running family drama centered around a reverend, his wife and their seven children.

90210 ~ 5 Seasons (2008-2013) Reboot of the original series. Follows the lives of several students from high school to college. All new cast with the exception of Erin Silver, who was the daughter born to two of the original cast members parents. There are occasional appearances from original cast members including Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) and Donna Martin (Tori Spelling).

The Golden Girls ~ 7 Seasons (1985-1992) Centers around four older women living in Miami, Florida.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer ~ 7 Seasons (1997-2003) Follows a teenager who is the latest in a line of young women known as "Slayers" who are "called" upon to battle against vampires, demons and other forces of darkness with the help of her friends known as the "Scooby Gang".

Charmed ~ 8 Seasons (1998-2006) Centers around three sisters known as the "Charmed Ones", the most powerful good witches of all time whose destiny is to protect innocent lives from evil beings. Season Four added a half sister, after one of the sisters died.

Angel ~ 5 Seasons (1999-2004) Spinoff series following Angel, the vampire with a restored human soul from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Twisted ~ 1 Season (2013-2014) Focuses on a 16 year old boy released from Juvenile Detention after five years for the murder of his aunt.

Bunheads ~ 1 Season (2012-2013) Centers on a Las Vegas showgirl who gets married on a whim and ends up in a small town teaching ballet alongside her mother in law.

October Road ~ 2 Seasons (2007-2008) Follows Nick Garrett, who returns home after ten years. The seasons for this show were very short with there being only 19 episodes in total. A 10 minute series finale was filmed and released as a special feature on the Season Two DVD.

F.r.i.e.n.d.s ~ 10 Seasons (1994-2004) Revolves around six friends living in Manhattan.

Full House ~ 8 Seasons (1987-1995) Chronicles the life of a widowed father who, with the help of his best friend and brother in law, raise his three daughters. Netflix recently announced there will be a reunion show called Fuller House that will include most of the original cast members.

Roseanne ~ 9 Seasons (1988-1997) Revolves around the Conners, an Illinois based working class family.

The Carrie Diaries ~ 2 Seasons (2013-2014) Follows Carrie Bradshaw during her Junior and Senior years in high school. Prequel to Sex And The City. Based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell.

Sex And The City ~ 6 Seasons (1998-2004) Follows the lives of four woman, who are best friends and live and work in New York City. Based on a book of the same name by Candace Bushnell.

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager ~ 5 Seasons (2008-2013) Centers around Amy Juergens, who finds herself pregnant at fifteen.

Lincoln Heights ~ 4 Seasons (2007-2009) Family drama surrounding a police officer, his wife and their three children.

Wildfire ~ 4 Seasons (2005-2008) Follows a troubled teen girl who is offered a job at a family owned horse ranch.

One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, 90210, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Angel, Twisted, F.r.i.e.n.d.s, Roseanne, The Carrie Diaries and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager can all be found on Netflix streaming.

Dawson's Creek, Beverly Hills, 90210, 7th Heaven, The Golden Girls, October Road, Full House, Wildfire and Lincoln Heights can be found on Netflix DVD Delivery.

Bunheads and Sex And The City cannot be found at all on Netflix but can be bought on Amazon Instant Video and HULU. Sex And The City can be bought on DVD. They can also be found for free on projectfreetv.ch.

So that's my LONG list of top T.V. Shows that I love even though they no longer have new episodes. This list is based entirely on my own preferences and personal opinions.
