What's In My Purse?

I thought it would be fun and different to do a what's in my purse? blog so here it is...

I am using my Vera Bradley Cargo Sling in Flower Shower. It zips closed.

This is the inside and it has three pocket on the back of the inside as well.

These are the things I have in the inside pockets.

The first pocket - a mirror and hand sanitizer
The second pocket - a pen and my checkbook
The third pocket - travel size body spray and lotion

In the big inside part I keep my kindle and my makeup bag. The kindle case is the Vera Bradley Medium Tablet Sleeve in Lola (lol) and the makeup bag is a free one I got from Sephora (obviously). I also have a blog post about what is currently in my makeup bag so be sure to check that out if you haven't already!

There are two front pockets that snap closed.

In the left pocket I have a small change purse that I keep an extra phone battery in and a reusable bag. In the second pocket I keep this Small Wristlet in Provencal from Vera Bradley, I keep my IPOD in it.

There is a zippered pocket in the bag of the purse.

In it I keep my wallet which is also in Flower Shower and it's the Turn and lock wallet.

There are also two opened pockets on both ends of the purse.

In them I keep a small flashlight and cough drops or gum or a small bottle of something to drink if I can find one thin enough.

I also forgot to put my keys in the picture of the stuff that I keep in the big section of my purse. I also should mention that the purse also has an adjustable strap so you can wear it short and use it as a shoulder bag or you can wear it longer and use it as an over the shoulder bag. I usually use it short. I love this bag!

So that's what I keep in my purse. What do you keep in yours?

Top Spring/Summer Nail Polishes

Hello Guys!

Todays blog is about my top Spring and Summer nail polishes. These are my own personal opinions and the colors are what I normally grab for but they are not the only ones that you can wear. Everyone is free to use whatever color they chose and it's not limited to the season. There is no rule that you can't wear a bright polish in the Winter and a dark color in the Spring. Usually I tend to use darker colors in the Fall and Winter and light and bright colors in the Spring and Summer but sometimes I switch it up and wear whatever I feel like wearing the day that I paint my nails. I also wear white and black polishes all year round. It's all what you prefer and what you feel like wearing.

The polishes that I chose in the pictures are just general colors and not necessarily my top brands or colors but just the ones that I could get to. I have the worst nail polish storage right now so its almost impossible to paint my nails at this point because I need to move everything around! If anyone has any suggestions on nail polish storage definitely let me know in the comments or message me on Instagram or Twitter!

So usually during the Spring I use light and pale colors. I tend to grab blue, mints, pinks, corals and peaches. These are just a few examples and the colors are listed left to right.

Sinful Colors - Hip To Be Square
Ulta - Bam-Blue-Zled
Revlon - Dreamer
Ulta - Mint Condition
China Glaze - Too Yacht Too Handle

NYC - Pink Promenade Crème
NYC - Fuchsia Shock Crème
Revlon - Apricot Nectar (This is scented and amazing!)
Butter London - Trout Pout
Revlon - Charming

In the Summer months I usually tend to grab brighter and neon colors. These colors are also listed left to right.

NYC - Midtown Mimosa
Revlon - Sassy
Essence - L.O.L.
Essence - Break Through
Essence - Let's Get Lost
Essie - e-nuf is e-nuf
Revlon - Fearless

I sometimes use glitter depending on my mood. Usually I use it as an accent nail because it is so hard to get off! I tend to grab lighter glitter and silver and golds.

NYC - Pink Bling
L.A. Colors - Sparkling Diamonds
Hard Candy - King Of Pop
E.L.F. - Fairy Dust
E.L.F. - Dream Maker
O.P.I. - Carrie'd Away (Carrie Underwood collection)

So those are my choices for Spring and Summer nail polishes. As I said before it's a personal preference and what I usually tend to grab for but like everyone else my tastes and moods change and I paint my nails any color that I want to wear at the moment.

Ways To Stop Biting Nails

Todays blog are ways to help you stop biting your nails. I used to be a very bad nail biter when I was younger and some of these really did help.

1. Wear fake nails. If you have fake nails on then you can't bite your natural nails.
2. Find a new habit like finger tapping, humming or chewing gum.
3. Buddy system. Have people around you that can tell you to stop when you are biting your nails.
4. Relax. Drink teas or use lotion.
5. Keep your nails groomed.
6. Apply a deterrent. Use creams and oils to stop yourself from biting. There are also things in the drugstore that taste bad that you can put on your nails.
7. Find out why you bite. I bit my nails when I was nervous or uncomfortable so I had to find something else to do instead. I now play with my hair.
8. Seek treatment. If your nail biting gets really bad then talk to a professional about things that you can do.

These are only some options and the ones that I think are the most beneficial. I stopped biting my nails but using lots of lotion because it doesn't taste great. I also started playing with my hair in situations where I would normally bite my nails.

Nail Dos & Don'ts

Todays blog are ways to keep your nails healthy and things to do to help keep nails strong.

1. Keep a nail file with you. If a nail breaks, file it down and don't break it off. Keeping a smooth edge will help prevent cracks and chips.

2. Don't bite your nails. (A blog post is coming)

3. Moisturize your cuticles often. I usually use cuticle oil three times a week.

4. Don't use old nail polish. If your polish gets thick and goopy, add a few drops of nail polish thinner.

5. Use base and top coats. Base coats protect nails, helps polish go on smoother & keeps polish from chipping. Top coats seal the polish, helps dry the polish faster & also helps prevent chipping.

I hope this blog helps and gives you some ideas. If you have any more suggestions, as always feel free to leave them in the comments below or on Instagram.

Acetone Vs. Non Acetone

Todays blog is going to be about Acetone and Non Acetone nail polish remover. Which one is better and what the difference is between the two.

Acetone ~

Acetone is a clear, strong smelling solvent. It quickly dissolves nail polish and is best for glitter and darker colors. Acetone nail polish remover is good for removing artificial nails. It can weaken and dissolve acrylics and other artificial nails so it should only be used on natural nails. Acetone can be drying to cuticles.

Non Acetone ~

Non Acetone sometimes takes longer to dissolve nail polish. It has a less intense smell. This nail polish remover can be used on natural nails but is also good for acrylics and other artificial nails. Non Acetone nail polish remover will also be gentle on nails.

The choice is yours whether to use Non Acetone or Acetone nail polish. They both have their pros and their cons.

Personally I use both. I use Acetone on darker and glitter polishes and I use Non Acetone on all other polishes and on the days when I just want to take my polish off quickly.
