Bath & Body Works Semi Annual Sale

I recently went into Bath & Body Works and hit up the Semi Annual Sale. I got quite a bit of stuff but some of it were birthday gifts and not for me so I'm not going to include those things in this blog.

I got three of the foaming hand soaps. The Pomegranate Peony and Pink Grapefruit were $1.75 I believe and the Watermelon Lemonade was $3. I also got myself three of the pocketbacs. I got Watermelon Lemonade, Donuts About You and Perfect Beach Day. These for 5 for $5 but the other two I got as gifts.

I have been searching for the Cinnamon Sugared Donut candles and can never find them. The day I went in I found two of the small mason jar candles for $2 so I grabbed them both! I also got 2 of the wallflowers in Pink Lemonade Punch and Cinnamon Sugared Donut. They were 75% off.

That's all for my short little B & BW SAS haul I hope you enjoyed.

Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara Review

I got this mascara in the Spring Walmart Beauty Box. It retails for about $8. Here is my review...

The package said that you would see lash growth in 30 days. Honestly I don't see any change in the length of my eye lashes which I am disappointed about. I'm not saying that it doesn't work, maybe it works for other people but it just didn't work for me. Aside from that, I really do love this mascara. It's not sticky, it makes my lashes dark and long when I have it on. I don't get clumps and I don't have spidery lashes when I use it. I would definitely buy this mascara. It didn't grow my lashes, but the product was amazing even without that and its around the same price as any other mascara. If it was a $20 mascara I would say don't waste the money because it doesn't grow your lashes (In my case anyway) but because it's $8 and a really good product, I would say if you want to spend the money definitely go try it out. I personally think it is worth the money.

Things That Could Be Causing Your Breakouts

I suffer from break outs once in a while and I try to pin point exactly what is breaking me out. Below is a list of some of the things that I have found to break me out and also some general ideas for helping to prevent them as well.

1. Cell Phone. Frequently wipe down with a disinfectant wipe.

2. Yoga Mat. Wipe before and after especially if you are using someone else's.

3. Pillow Cases. Wash once a week.

4. Hands. Try not to touch your face especially when you haven't washed your hands.

5. Laundry Detergent. I am allergic to some detergents and they make me breakout.

6. Food. This can sometimes be a cause. For example greasy foods.

7. Makeup. I breakout when I use foundation and some moisturizers/lotions.

8. Period. If you are a female, you can break out during that time of the month.

How To: Cleanse Your Face

So I thought I would do something a little different for todays blog, I am going to do a how to type of blog. This one is How To: Cleanse Your Face...

1. Wash your face. This gets rid of a majority of your makeup, oil and residue.

2. Makeup Remover Toilette. This will clean any remaining makeup that is still left on your face and you can also remove mascara.

3. Use your cleansing system brush if you have one to deep clean your face and get anything that could be left behind from the previous steps.

4. Apply Toner. This restores the PH Balance of your skin. Moisturizers and skin treatments also work better. (I need to start doing this)

5. Add serum or eye cream. Wait two minutes to allow this to soak into your skin.

6. Use moisturizer/night cream.

7. Use Spot Treatment. Use this after you moisturize to avoid flaking in the morning.

8. Drink 8 oz. of water. This hydrates your skin and is just overall good for you.

Tip: Do not put more than 5 products on your face before bedtime.

Revlon Illuminate Skin Renewal System Review

So I went  ahead and bought a more expensive cleansing brush. It is not the Clarisonic but it is $25 more than the Olay VA-VA-VIVID that I bought a while back. I loved my Olay cleansing brush but I wanted something a little bigger and with more cleansing options. The cleansing system that I got is the Revlon Illuminate Skin Renewal System.

It comes with a case and three different attachments.

There are two speeds, high and low. It also spins around instead of vibrating like the Olay. Wipe the hand piece with a damp cloth.

I got it in pink and white but I also saw them in just pink and I think just white. It takes two AA batteries. Rinse attachments after each use with warm water. You can also use warm, soapy water.

The first attachment (the one on the left) is the Soft Silicone Flex-Tip. This removes dirt, makeup and bacteria. Use this at low speed. The picture didn't come out that clear but this is the attachment in the previous video that you can see more clearly.

The middle attachment is the Exfoliating Brush. This removes dead skin cells and stimulates muscles. Use this at low speed.

The attachment on the right is the Cleansing Sponge. This is made for intensive and soothing facial cleansing. It also removes makeup and oil. Use this brush on either high or low setting.

A few Tips...

Do not use in the shower or bath tub
Don not use if you have a rash, severe acne or other skin ailments
Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry

I love this cleansing brush. It is so light weight and compact. I love that it comes with a case, it makes it easy for travel and keeps in clean at the same time. I also love the fact that it comes with three applicator attachments and rotates. I wanted something a little more high tech then the Olay system but I just couldn't talk myself into spending so much on the Clarisonic. Maybe one day HAHA! All in all I am very pleased with the Revlon cleansing brush and I feel as though it cleans my skin deeper and makes my skin feel even better.

Empties June 2015

These are all of the things that I have used up over the last few months...

HAIR:

I used up two Head & Shoulders Almond Oil shampoos. I love it and it's the only thing that seems to work for my dry scalp so I will keep repurchasing that.
I used up a tea tree shampoo as well. It smells really good but it seems like after a couple of uses it just didn't work as well as the Head & Shoulders.
I used up three conditioners. The V05 tea therapy smelled really good, the White Rain Ocean Mist is by far my favorite scent and the Herbal Essences conditioner had a floral scent that I really enjoyed as well.
I also used up a tea tree oil that I used on my scalp a couple times a week hoping that it would help my scalp but I didn't really see the same results as I did with the Head & Shoulders.
I used up two hair masks. the Argan Oil and the Keratin Protein. Both smelled good but I didn't see that much of a difference but they were also pretty small sizes. If I bought either of them again it would be the Keratin Protein hair mask because it smelled the best out of the two and it is also good for color treated hair.

BODY:

I used up three body washes. I loved the Bath & Body Works Strawberry Sparkler. It really did smell like strawberries and I would definitely buy it again if they brought it back. The Herbal Essences body wash smelled like coconuts and I would buy that if it went on sale again. The White Rain Ocean Mist was the best one of all.
I loved the Violet Sweet Pea foaming milk bath. I made my skin smell so good and feel so soft when I got out of the bath tub.
I liked the Renewal shave gel. It wasn't my favorite. It didn't make my skin feel soft like the skintimate but it is a good stand in.
The Secret Clinical Strength deodorant was amazing. I could smell it all day long, even when I went to take a shower at night. I got this for free in a Walmart Beauty Box but if it ever went on sale I would definitely purchase it.
I also used up three travel size body washes. The Dove one was very creamy and smelled good and I would buy it if it went on sale. The two Ulta shower gels both smelled good but the Water Blossom one was my favorite. The other one was Pink Petals I believe.

RANDOM:

I used up two candles I have had for years. They are both from Charlotte Russe. The Peony Flower and Winter Berry both smelled good but the berry one was my favorite out of the two.
I used up a colgate toothpaste. It was just a toothpaste, it did it's job. I'm not too particular about my toothpaste, I usually just buy whatever is on sale.
I used up an e.l.f. makeup remover pen, It worked great and I do have another one that I am currently using.
I also used up a nail polish remover. That one is kind of self explanatory.

FREE SAMPLES:

I also used up a bunch of free samples. I liked the Nivea in shower lotions. I am planning on buying some. The Purity, Fresh, Soap & Glory and First Aid Beauty face cleansers did their job. The Origins and Clinique moisturizers smelled good but one of them made me break out so those aren't something that I am going to be buying. The Origins face mask smelled kind of funny to me. The Glam Glow mask sample was just what it says. The Hope in a Jar moisturizer broke me out so I won't purchase that.

SKIN CARE:

I love the Simple Foaming Cleanser. It lasted so long and is so worth the money.
The Olay and First Aid Beauty cleansers worked good.
I really liked the Eucerin moisturizer and I will definitely use it again in the future.
I loved the Boscia black mask and really wish it wasn't so expensive. I am searching for something cheaper and similar.
The Yes to Cucumbers and Olay makeup wipes were fine but I honestly didn't think they were anything special.
I loved the Simple Makeup Remover Pads and will definitely be getting more of those.
I also really loved the face masks. The three I got were Mint Chocolate Chip. Clean Up Mud with Aloe and Creamy Coconut. They all smelled so good but my favorite one was definitely the Mint Chocolate Chip.

How I Blog...Any Suggestions?

Todays Blog is going to be different than any of the others. This one is going to be about how I blog. How I choose the topics, take pictures, and post. I do not consider myself a complete blogger. There are things that I am still working on and things that I want to improve on. If anyone has any suggestions please leave them in the comments below or in any of my Instagram photos. I greatly appreciate any tips on making my blog better.

The first thing I do is make a list in my notebook. This list includes any blog ideas that I have, products that I want to talk about, ideas that I get from watching YouTube videos, etc.

Next I take photos on my phone of any products that I want to include as part of the blogs. I find that this is the hardest part. I am still trying to find the best background, way to set things up and lighting. It's been my experience that my photos either come out too dark or too light. If I take the photos when it's dark and use a flash, the products have a shine most of the time. If I take the photos when it's light and don't use a flash they seem like they are too dark. I am constantly trying to improve the quality of my photos to not only post on my Instagram but also to make my blog a little better.

The next thing I do is add the photos to my blog and then write out everything that I want to. I try not to make it too long so that people don't get bored and have to read a short story but I also try not to make them too short so people think that I don't put time and effort into my blog.

The last thing I do is publish my blog and then post a photo on my Instagram saying what my blog post is about and adding some hash tags for products, brands, or other things that are included in my blog post. I usually use the Instagram filters to edit the photo that I am using.

Depending on how much time I have and how busy I am during the week, sometimes I write the blog and post it on the same day. Sometimes I write multiple blogs in the same day and schedule them for different days and times.

So that is basically what I do when it comes to blogging. I am still pretty new to it and I'm still learning things. I am very tech challenged and don't know how to do a lot of things when it comes to editing and layouts and things like that.

Feel free to leave me any suggestions and tips for making my blog better and for taking photos. I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks for reading :)

May Favorites!

Here are my favorites for the month of May...

HAIR/BODY:

I have been loving the Herbal Essences body wash and conditioner. The body wash smells like coconuts and the conditioner smelled floral.

SKIN CARE:

I have really been loving the Queen Helene mud mask again. I was using up my sample masks and so I haven't been using my other ones and when I finished those I started using this one again and fell in love all over again in May. I have also been loving The First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads.

NAILS:

I have been loving Essie polishes in May. My two most used for the month were e-nuf is e-nif and Jazzy Jubilant. I have also been using the LA Colors Top Coat all month as well. It dries fast and it's shiny and really helps with chipping.

APPLIANCES/BEVERAGES:

I have had my Keurig for months and always forget to put it in my favorites blog but not this month. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Keurig. The K Cups I have been loving are the Lipton Sweet Iced Tea because it's been getting hotter as well as the Bigelow Vanilla Chai. I love the Chai for rainy days and chilly nights.

TV SHOWS:

May is the month of season finales. Once Upon A Time, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Grey's Anatomy all had theirs and they were pretty good for the most part. Grey's felt more like an episode ending instead of a finale but it was still ok. I think of all, Once Upon A Time was the best.

I have also been liking Reign and Game Of Thrones. I have been watching them online because I was a little late to the game. I am almost caught up on Game Of Thrones and I have Season Two of Reign to watch. Both are really good shows.

APPS:

I found two apps in May that I am addicted to. The first is Agent Alice, which is a hidden object game mixed with murder mystery. Also Covet Fashion, where you buy and put together outfits for certain events. This game really has no point but I am obsessed. HAHA!

OTHER:

EMOJIS. I have never really jumped on the Emoji band wagon but when I got my new cell phone I was playing around with a lot of different things and I became obsessed with Emojis.

Those are my May favorites. I hope you enjoyed them and get some ideas of things you want to try if you haven't already.

Thanks for reading :)
