What's In My Makeup Bag?

Today's blog is a different kind of blog than the previous ones I posted. This is a what's in my makeup bag? blog. I wanted to do something a little different for my next few blogs so here is goes...

The current makeup bag I am using is a Sephora bag that I got with an online order full of free samples. You can see what I got in one of my Sephora haul blogs. Check it out if you would like.

First off, I keep female products in my makeup bag as most of you know those are essential items. I always have a brush and elastic hair bands with me so I can put my hair up if I need to

Makeup bag essentials...

Secret Deodorant (It doesn't matter what kind)
Advil (You never know when you will need this)
Burt's Bees Lip Balm (I can't go anywhere without lip balm)
EOS (I have an extra one so I keep the Blueberry Acai in my makeup bag)
Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara (I keep this one in my makeup bag because it's a small travel size and fits perfectly)

I hope you enjoyed todays blog. If you have any essentials for your makeup bag feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading :)

7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag!

I just recently discovered this beauty tag on YouTube even though some of them are from a few years ago but it looked fun so I decided to do a blog.

1. GREED
What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive beauty item?

The most inexpensive beauty item I have are things from E.L.F. but the one I chose for this blog is the eyeshadow in Pink Ice that goes into my custom compact. It was $1.

The most expensive beauty item that I have when it comes to makeup is my Maybelline Great Lash Real Impact mascara. It was $5.99. I do have more expensive items but for this blog I chose a makeup item.

2. WRATH
What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I have a love/hate relationship with lipstick. There are days when I want to throw them all out because I never wear them and then there are days when I want to go out and buy a ton because I have been wearing them all the time.

3. GLUTTONY
What are your most delicious beauty products?

I have a lot of delicious beauty products but I picked my four favorite lipglosses. The first is L.A. Colors Lipgloss in Paradise Pink. The second are any of my NYX Butter Glosses this one is in Sugar Cookie. The third one is E.L.F. Hypershine Lipgloss in Flirt. The last one is Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie in Maverick.

4. SLOTH
What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

I definitely neglect eyeshadow. I am so lazy in the morning that a lot of days I don't wear it. I really need to start getting up earlier so that I can put it on especially now that I got this Baked Eyeshadow in Toasted from E.L.F. because it is so beautiful and pigmented.

5. PRIDE
What beauty product gives you the most confidence?

This is technically a skin care product not a beauty product but it is what makes me feel the most confident. I just feel like when I moisturize my skin feel so fresh and clean and it just puts me in a better mood.

6. LUST
What attributes do you find the most attractive in the opposite sex?

This one is simple. I love a man's eyes. That's the first thing that I see in someone of the opposite sex. I also love someone that can make me laugh and knows how to have fun.

7. ENVY
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

I personally would rather give gifts than receive them but if I had to chose I would say nail polish because you can never go wrong with nail polish and even though I have so much, I can never have enough!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Check out some of the 7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag videos on YouTube and definitely do your own blog if you would like! Thanks for reading!

Weekly Skin Care Routine

This is my weekly/few times a week routine.

These are some of the products that I use on my skin but not everyday. I use some once a week and some multiple times a week.

1. I do a face mask about twice a week. I used the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask last so that's why it's in the picture but I use a different face mask every time.
2. Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cleansing Oil. I bought this because I was having a hard time getting my waterproof mascara off but it doesn't seem to really work for me so I actually use it as a face oil. I put it on my face once a week, leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off in the shower.
3. I use the E.L.F. Zit Zapper when I need to for small break outs.
4. I use the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads two or three times a week. They are pricey so I don't use them every day or twice a day as it suggests.
5. I use the E.L.F. Lip Exfoliator when my lips are feeling dry mostly but I use it at least once a week otherwise. I put it on my lips, leave it on for 5 or 10 minutes and then wash it off when I take a shower.

Those are the products that I use occasionally during the week and these also change like any of my skin care routines.

Thanks for reading :)

Evening Skin Care Routine

This is my evening skin care routine.

1. I brush my teeth.
2. I use Simple Makeup Remover Pads to remove my mascara.
3. I use the Olay Fresh Effects VA-VA-VIVID powered contour cleansing system to cleanse my face. (I forgot to include the Olay Fresh Effects SHINE, SHINE, GO AWAY shine minimizing cleanser that I use with it)
4. I take a shower and use Simple Foaming Cleanser.
5. I moisturize with Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer.
6. I use Vaseline Lip Therapy.

As with my morning skin care routine, my evening routine changes as well. I use different cleansers, moisturizers, and lip balm.

That's my evening skin care routine. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading :)

Morning Skin Care Routine

This is my current morning skin care routine.

1. I get up and brush my teeth
2. I wash my face with Simple Foaming Cleanser
3. I moisturize with Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer
4. I use First Aid Beauty Lip Therapy

My routine changes from time to time because I used different cleaners and moisturizers. Since it's been cold weather my lips have been very dry so I have been using the FAB Lip Therapy. I also use lipgloss and lipstick when I'm in the mood and my lips aren't too dry.

This is a pretty quick and simple routine because I am always so lazy and slow in the morning that I just like to keep it quick and simple.

I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading :)

February Favorites!

Here are my February Favorites. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

I have been loving my Vera Bradley Cargo Sling in Flower Shower since I got it in January. It holds everything I need with extra space. I can even put a 1 liter bottle inside and zip it up. This is my newest favorite pattern from Vera!

This Strawberry Sparkler shower gel from Bath & Body Works smells so good. I am just about out of it and it lasted me such a long time even using it everyday.

My two favorite nail polishes for February have been Pure Ice in First Time and Deborah Lippmann in Mermaid's Dream. I have been into the green, mermaid, sea type of colors recently and these are my favs! I also just picked up a Tips and Toes polish that looks a lot like Mermaid's Dream. Check out my previous haul blog for that!

I have also been loving the First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream intense therapy. With the weather being so cold here in Vermont lately my skin has been so chapped and dry, but this really seems to be helping.

I have recently gone back to using my Vaseline lip therapy for the past few weeks. I neglected it when I found the First Aid Beauty Lip therapy but to save on that, because it is kind of pricey, I go back and forth between that and this. I do really love this lip balm. I use it at night before I go to bed and when I wake up, my lips feel so hydrated.

Other Favorites...

I recently watched the documentary To Russia With Love, mainly because I love Johnny Weir, but it was such a good watch. I normally don't like the documentary type stuff but this one was such a good one. It tells about the Gay ban in Russia and some gay Russians speak out about how they feel and how they are treated. It really is very powerful and makes you really appreciate living in a country where you are basically breaking the law by being who you are. I highly recommend watching it.

I have also been listening to Meghan Trainor. I didn't like her when she came out with All About That Bass but then I heard her song Lips Are Movin' and I fell in love with it. I gave her another chance and now I love her and All About That Bass! I also really like her song Dear Future Husband.

I also wanted to mention BlogSpot. I have been blogging for a couple of months now and I am really enjoying it. I love going on YouTube and watching all of the videos and getting recommendations about products, but because I am not comfortable in front of the camera blogging is perfect for me because I can share the things that I love with others like me that might get some ideas of different products they could look into.

I have also really been loving Instagram, I'm not sure if I have this in another favorites blog though. I love posting pictures of products and announcing new blog posts. I love the comments I get from followers and all of the likes on my pictures.

Those are my February favorites. Thanks for reading :)

Walmart & A.C. Moore Haul

Today's blog is a short haul of some of the things that I bought recently that I wanted to share. Enjoy!

I made a trip to Walmart because I needed some more shampoo and it's the cheapest there. I got the Head & Shoulders dry scalp care in Almond Oil. It's the only shampoo I can use without my scalp being so dry and the almond oil one smells so good. I also needed body wash so I picked up this White Rain Ocean Mist which also smells so good.

I have been hearing around YouTube that the Walmart 3 wick candles are just as good as the Bath & Body ones so when I was there I decided to check them out. I got the Sweet Pea and the Strawberry Lemonade. They smell so good and I really do think they could give B & BW a run for their money. The strawberry lemonade is my favorite. The best part is that these candles are only $3.50!

The other place I went was A.C. Moore. I had never been there before so I wanted to go and check things out since I like to do crafts and things like that. Being me I go in there and come out with nail polish. HAHA! I got three of the Tips & Toes by Nicole nail polishes. I have never tried the brand and they had some pretty colors not to mention they were 3 for $5. I got a baby blue, a peachy orange with glitter and a greenish color with glitter. The one on the far right reminds me of Mermaid's Dream by Deborah Lippman.

This is a close up of the two glitter polishes. The picture doesn't do the one on the right any justice. It's the perfect dupe for Mermaid's Dream. The only thing is, I wish that they had polish names. I love getting polishes that have names especially the really cute or funny ones!

That's all for my small haul. I hope you liked it and as always thanks for reading :)

E.L.F. Haul

Last week I made an online purchase at eyeslipsface.com. I love E.L.F. products. They are so affordable and very good quality for the price. Here's what I got...

I got the 32 eyeshadow palatte in Natural. I love the earthy, neutral and nude shades and this palatte is perfect. The pigmentation on them is pretty good except for a few shades that don't really come off, the shadows are good quality. They also look really good if you wet your brush a little before putting on the shadow.

Because there are 32 shades, I just swatched a handful to show you the pigmentation quality.

These two eyeshadows are two that I have been wanting to try for so long and since I had a gift card I figured it was the perfect time. The one on the left is the Flawless Eyeshadow in Beautiful Browns. I have heard so much about this that I just had to try it for myself. The one on the right is a baked eyeshadow in Toasted. I have been wanting to try a baked shadow and I love this color.

These are the swatches for the Beautiful Brown quad. So pretty.

This is the baked shadow. It is so pretty and so pigmented. This might be my favorite shadow and I may have to buy some more!

I love the Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks. I have two already and I bought two more. The one on the left is In The Nude and the one on the right is Tiki Torches.

These are the swatches. I love them because they give you color but not too much. These are good when you want a little bit of color on your lips but you don't really want to wear lipstick. They also smell really good!

I also got another Flirtatious lipstick because my other one was broken and I go another Mineral Lip Tint. This one is in Pink. I love the other one I have so I decided to get another.

And here are the swatches for those.

I also got a few little odd items as well. I got the Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer in Sheer. I have been wanting to try an eye primer so I picked this one out. I got an eye crease brush to try out as well as some daily brush cleaner.

This is what the eyelid primer looks like if anyone is interested.

I have been waiting for the E.L.F. Skincare line to come out since they announced it. Well it is finally here and I got the Daily Hydration Moisturizer to try out. I can't wait to use it and see how it works!

With this purchase there was also a code to use and you got sent a free mystery box and this is it. There were actually quite a few items in it. They are all full size and most of them I will definitely get some use out of.

The first few things are makeup items. I got the pressed mineral eyeshadow in Heartbreaker. I also got the contour brush, which I have already and I love so I'm very glad to have a backup. I also got the hypershine lipgloss in Flirt. I haven't tried this gloss yet but I am excited to and it also smells soooo good.

These are the eyeshadow and lipgloss swatches. Both of them are very pretty.

I also got the Mineral Mist which I am excited to try because I have never used anything like it before. The last thing that I am keeping is by far my favorite of the box. The nail polish is in the shade Bubble Gum Pink. It's such a pretty color and is going to be great for the spring and fall. It also says that it's a new and improved formula.

These last two things I didn't open because I knew that I wouldn't use them. The first is an HD Blush in Superstar. The other product is a waterproof shadow liner in Black. I don't use either product so I am not opening them and putting them up for a future giveaway so keep checking back for that!

So that's all for my E.L.F. haul. I hope you enjoyed it and go out and buy some of these products for you to try out yourself. Thanks for reading :)

Vera Bradley Haul

Last week I made an online purchase at verabradley.com. I love the colors and designs of the purses and wallets. They are by far my favorite bags. They can be costly though so I usually only make a purchase when there is a sale or when I get an email for a percentage off. Here are the things that I ordered. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

This is the wallet that matches the purse I got I believe a month or so ago. It's in the pattern Flower Shower and it's the turn lock wallet. I love it. When you open it up there are multiple credit card slots, two ID slots and a pocket. There is also a zippered part with more credit card slots, two pockets and a divider. The back also has a coin zipper. It so spacious and can hold so much stuff.

This is the medium tablet sleeve in Lola. I got this for my Kindle because the other holder I had was getting so worn and old. I like this one because I have the original Kindle and it fits in this sleeve with extra room so that if I ever need to buy a new Kindle I won't have to buy a sleeve for it because this is plenty big enough.

The last thing I got in this order was the tech wristlet in Provencal. I got this to keep my IPOD in. I have the 4th generation touch and it fits in this case perfectly as long as there isn't a case on it. That's the only downfall with this wristlet is that it's not long enough to hold my IPOD if it has a case on it but that's not a big deal for me.

So that's my Vera Bradley haul. Thanks for reading :)

Face Mask Review

Today's blog is a little different. I am doing a review of the face masks that I currently have. I love doing at home face masks. I do them a  couple times a week. All of the full size masks I got from Ulta for $3.99 which isn't a bad price at all. The mini Boscia I got as a 100 point pick from Sephora.

This is the Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque with natural English clay. It says it's old-fashioned, time-tested treatment. It softens lines and tightens sagging skin. It's also a pore cleanser which is always a good thing. You cleanse your face, apply the mask, wait 15 minutes for the mask to harden and then remove with warm water and a cloth. The mask comes out of the tube a light brown color. I love this mask. When I use it my skin feels so smooth and clean and it just looks more healthy.

This is the Freeman Facial Revealing Peel-Off Mask in Pomegranate. It refines and purifies your skin. It removes dirt and excess oils. It is infused with acai, goju, mango, mangosteen, cranberry, noni and blueberry. It's perfect for all skin types. You apply it evenly to your face, leave on for 5-10 minutes or until it has dried then you gently peel it off and rinse your face with warm water. This mask comes out of the tube clear and kind of makes your face look wet. I always say that it looks like I have been working out all day! I love this mask. I think my favorite part is peeling it off my face. It's just so fun! It leaves my skin feeling and looking so amazing. It looks clear and refreshed and feels so fresh and smooth. It also smells really good.

This is the Freeman Facial Peel-Off Mask in Cucumber. It clarifies and renews your skin. This mask peels away impurities that can cause rough and dull skin. The cucumber extract and aloe help sooth while moisturizing. It is perfect for normal to combination skin. You put it evenly on your face, leave on for 5-10 minutes or until dry, then gently peel off the mask and rinse with warm water and a cloth. This is a lot like the pomegranate one. It comes out clear and makes your face look extremely wet. This mask has a cooling effect and leaves your skin feeling smooth, moisturized, fresh and clean. It also smells good.

This is the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask. It's a peel-off mask and it definitely lives up to it's name and comes out of the tube black. It helps boost skin clarity and minimizes the appearance of pores. You apply a thick even coat to your clean dry skin. Be sure to avoid eyebrows, hairline, lips, and eye area. Leave it on for 30 minutes or until it is completely dry, then gently peel off the mask from the outer edge and then rinse off the residue. I love this mask. I have only used it once but because it's so small you can probably only get two uses out of it anyway. It makes your skin smooth and clean looking. I'm not sure about the pore minimizing because I have only used it once. I hope this mask goes on sale soon because I would definitely buy it but because I have other masks I can't justify paying the $38 for it!

So that's my face mask review blog. I hope you all enjoyed it and definitely go and pick these masks up if you get the chance because they are so worth it.

Thanks for reading :)

Products I Regret Buying & Some Alternatives

So today's blog are the products that I regret buying and some alternatives that I like a lot better. This is a blog suggestion from sophayhum. Thanks for the suggestion! Check her out on Instagram and read her blog on here as well if you don't already :)

These two products are from my local Dollar Tree. The Shaving cream was watery and didn't last long. The Dermasil Labs lotion was also very watery and didn't do anything for my skin. The products were only $1 so I really shouldn't complain but it's not worth spending even $1 on something that doesn't work.

This Rite Aid Renewal Shaving gel was only $2 and it works great. It's got a thick gel consistency and makes my skin feel so smooth. I got the baby soft with baby oil one and it also smells pretty good too!

Now for the lotion. If you want to use a higher end product then I would go with the First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream. It's a thick cream and after only a few uses I can already tell a difference in the dryness of my skin. This is normally not a product that I would buy because it is quite costly. It's about $30 I believe but I got it as part of a five product set and only spent $48.

This Jergens Shea Butter lotion is a cheaper alternative. I got this at my local drug store in the travel size section and spent $1.50 I believe. It says it's good for your hands but I use it all over and it works great and smells good.

This is creamy petroleum jelly and this is also from my local Dollar Tree but this product is actually a good one. Unlike the other lotion this one is a thick cream and it does work great.

These are two candles that I got from Dollar Tree. I wouldn't recommend them at all. There is a scent when you smell them but when you are burning them there is nothing. I personally don't think that it's worth burning a candle if you can't smell it.

These are two of the Bath & Body Works candles that I have. I prefer the 3-wick candles. They smell so good even when they are burning. They can be a bit pricey but I usually buy them when they have the two for $22 or $20 sale or when they have them for $8 or $12. I have also heard that Walmart and Target sell 3-wick candles pretty cheap but I have not checked those out yet. If anyone knows if those are worth purchasing let me know.

As I've said in other blogs I have dry skin and a dry scalp and cannot use regular shampoos. This is the Rite Aid brand anti dandruff shampoo. This is only a half regret buy. This shampoo worked for a little while but then just stopped working. I think it might just be because it is a store brand and different formula. I think it's a good product to use for a few washes and then switch to something else that works better.

This is the Head & Shoulders anti dandruff shampoo. This one in particular is the Almond Oil one and it smells really good. I don't particularly like the original scented one. I think it smells like medicine. This is the only shampoo that I have found so far that works for my dry scalp and keeps my hair flake free. It can be a little pricey for a shampoo in my opinion but it is very much worth the price if you suffer from dandruff.

This toothpaste was about $3.50 when I bought it and I did not see any results. My teeth looked no different when I used this than when I use other cheaper toothpastes.

I would go with a Colgate or Crest or even a store brand. I can get a tube of toothpaste for $1 and it does the exact same thing as the 3D crest.  I got this toothpaste for $1 at Dollar Tree. Also my local Rite Aid usually has a sale on Crest or Colgate where it's $1 - $1.50 and I can always get the store brand for $1. It also is worth getting their rewards card as well.

This Ulta Amped Lashes mascara was a bad purchase in my opinion. It was $10 and it just wasn't worth it. I don't know if it's the formula or if I just got a bad one but it's so sticky and it stays that way all day. I feel like my top and bottom lashes stick together whenever I wear this mascara. I thought in the beginning that it was because it was waterproof but I have used others that were not sticky so I don't know what's going on there. Let me know if you or anyone you know has used this mascara and if the same thing happened.

This is by far my favorite mascara. It doesn't clump, it's not sticky, it makes my lashes long and dark. It's amazing and it's also cheaper than the Ulta one. I believe I got this one at Walmart for $4.99.

So that's my blog on products I regret buying and the alternatives that I prefer to use. I hope you enjoyed it and got some ideas.

Thanks for reading :)
